Theo Keet, President

Theo Keet has a 40+ year career in Finance, Marketing and General Management at global high-tech companies as well as local start-ups, in software and life science.
Theo has served as CFO at Philips Electronics and several local start ups. Prior to 1997 Theo held increasingly responsible executive positions in finance, auditing and marketing during his 16-year tenure at Unisys Corporation. Theo started his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in The Netherlands with long-term assignments in Portugal and Brazil. He holds a degree in finance and accounting and CPA certification from The Netherlands.  He is a mentor at the GSBI program of the Santa Clara University and a member of the Rotary Club. Theo was appointed to the Board of Directors for one year in January 2015. He was elected as President, by the Board of Directors for the calendar year in February, 2015. Mariko Matsumoto, Treasurer

 MBA, CPA, Controller at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Menlo Park. She previously worked at DCM, Sigma Partners and PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. 

 Mariko was Treasurer of the Board of Directors from January 2010 – May 2014. She was appointed to the Board in June 2009 and elected Jan. 2010 – Dec. 2012 and also Jan. 2013 - Dec. 2016. Mariko speaks Japanese and English and is a patron of art. Mariko was reappointed board treasurer in April 2015.

 

Joy Chase, Executive Secretary

 Joy Chase has a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She has a diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism. Joy Chase has been a member of the Pacific Art League since the mid-1970’s. She is part of a Mixed Media group that has showed their art since 2013. She works part-time at Evergreen Valley College Library and teaches online for Brandman University.

 Joy Chase served as President of the Board from January 2010-December 2013 and has served on the Education, Exhibition, Events and other committees. She was appointed to the Board of Directors in May 2008 and elected January 2009-December 2011, reelected January 2012 - December 2014 and reelected January 2015 – December 2018. Sondra Murphy

Sondra Murphy is a Social Scientist with a master’s degree in Child and Families Studies. She has served on National and Community-Based boards both as a Founder and Trustee: The Brazelton Foundation (Founder and Development Chair), the New York Women’s Foundation (Founder and Chair of Fundraising), Trustee of Greenwich Hospital (Major Fundraising and Events Chair), The Greenwich Arts Council (Board member and Education and Outreach Committee) . Sondra is an artist with paintings hanging in many homes, including the Clinton White House. At the Pacific Art League she has served on Events, Development, Education, and Exhibition Committees. She is elected to the Board of Directors from January 2015-December 2018. 

 

Robin Scholl

B.A. Studio Art. UC Santa Barbara and Teaching credential. PAL instructor since 1991. She is a talented, successful watercolor landscape artist and her work can be viewed online at www.robinscholl.com. Robin served on the Board Jan-May 2008 and was reelected Jan 2012-Dec 2014 and reelected January 2015-December 2018. Robin has served on the Education (as Chair), Exhibition and Events committees and is currently a member of the Executive Committee and the Art Programs Commitee.

William (Bill) Bruner

B.A. Stanford University. Licensed architect and Architect of Record for the Pacific Art League building renovation.  Bill Bruner has had several individual art shows at PAL, since 1991, including etching, print and pastel shows. He was elected to the board Jan 2008-Dec 2010. He served as President in 2008. He was reelected to the board Jan 2011-Dec 2013 and Jan 2014-Dec 2016. 

 

Marina Druz

Marina Druz is a corporate strategist with experience in Finance and Management. Marina holds a PhD from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government (visiting) in Finance and  Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) PhD in Banking, Corporate and Finance. Before moving to the United States, Marina worked for Boston Consulting Group helping American companies to expand and strengthen their business in Europe. She started her career as a financial analyst in Iola consulting. She has worked across multiple areas including marketing, distribution, growth strategies and organizational changes. Marina has lived and worked in 6 different European countries: Russia, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and the United States and speaks their languages. Currently, Marina is a Sr. Strategy Manager at Flextronics, a Fortune 500 company and global leader in supply chain solutions. Marina Druz was elected to the Board of Directors January 2015 – December 2018. She is Chair of the Art Programs Committee.

 

Brad Maihack

Brad is a 40 year veteran of Hewlett-Packard’s Financial & Business Operations leadership community. . Brad is currently the worldwide Director of Business Operations and Business Program Management for HP’s Cloud and Automation Business Unit.  Brad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; Accounting concentration, from San Jose State University. Over the years, he has held a wide range of leadership roles within Silicon Valley professional organizations. Today he is actively engaged with: the San Jose Social Innovation Institute and its Social Innovation Leadership Forum,  the  SJSU Global Leadership Advancement Center Social Innovation Initiative as an Executive in Residence,   Treasurer and Board member for the Center for Employment Training/CET in San Jose, and is founder of Social Venture Café , a private social venture focused on advocating, incubating, and supporting social venture creation and innovation to serve our community’s most pressing social need s and challenges.  Brad was appointed to the Board February - December 2015. He is chair of the Fundraising Committee

 

 

Glen Rojas

Glen Rojas has over 37 years of local government service. 32 years at the executive level with 15 of those years as a City Manager. Extensive experience managing and leading complex organizations during strong and weak economies. Worked closely with community organizations and non-profits assisting them in providing valuable services to the community. Most recently served as City Manager for the City of Menlo Park. The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive managing and leading an organization of approximately 250 employees and an overall budget of $80 million. Served as City Manager for the City of Chino with a population of 80,000. Managed a dynamic ethnically-diverse community that has experienced a smooth transition from an agriculture background to a vibrant urban environment. During my tenure as Director of Community Services (17 years) and City Manager (10 years) assisted in developing a thriving community theater and the foundation for a Cultural Arts Center which included working closely with the arts community. My volunteer efforts include serving at various levels of leadership with the Rotary Club of Menlo Park with a current title of Assistant Governor (overseeing 6 clubs). Serve as the Senior Advisor to the San Mateo County Managers Association which encompasses 20 City Managers, County Manager, San Mateo Transit Authority and other government agencies. Adjunct professor, Public Administration at San Franciisco State University. Retired and enjoying my two grandsons that live in Redwood City.

He was appointed to the Board February 2015 – December 2015.

 

Josephine Shuster

B.A. Teaching credential.  She is a retired Financial Planner and an artist. As chair of the Events Committee 2009 – 2014, she helped PAL raise considerable funds with the Carnivale galas each year. Josephine has previously served on the Board and was elected Jan 2009-Dec 2011 and reelected Jan 2012-Dec 2014 and January 2015-December 2018. Josephine is chair of the Nominating Committee. 

 

Robin Welles

American Academy of Dramatic Arts, N.Y. Former VP Palo Alto Art Center Foundation Board. Palo Alto Studios since 2003. Has done sculpting, monotypes, repousse'. Welles Fine Art Publishing, owner 1996-2003, designed and published fine art posters.  Set designer, office designer, formerly Creative Director of Hudson Bay Music, N.Y. Screen Gems Columbia Pictures, and Los Angeles, assistant to the president. Appointed to the Board Aug – Dec 2013, elected Jan 2014 - Dec 2016. Robin is involved in outreach at PAL and serves on the Governance Committee.

 

Rebecca White

Throughout her 18-year career, Rebecca White has focused on building audiences for growing businesses by applying modern digital marketing principles and creative, adaptive storytelling techniques to the traditional marketing process. Her systems expertise includes CRM, marketing automation solutions, social marketing and networking tools, and ultimately, delivering sustainable marketing engines that are designed to build audiences and drive reliable, predictive revenue streams. Currently marketing consultant, Rebecca White Consulting and formerly was Interim Vice President of Marketing Nginx, Inc. She has a BA in English from the University of San Francisco. Rebecca White was elected to the Pacific Art League Board of Directors January 2015-December 2018. She is Chair of the System Improvements Committee
