Theo Keet, President

Theo Keet has a 40+ year career in Finance, Marketing and General Management at global high-tech companies as well as local start-ups, in software and life science.

For the last 18 months has been a partner in a local VC focusing on reigniting stumbling start-ups, which involves due diligence analyses; preparation of long-term business plans and funding. Theo is handling also part-time CFO functions. Prior to that Theo completed a 4+ year CFO assignment at a medical device company, where he was instrumental in securing equity funding and headed finance, human resources, IT, corporate governance and IP.

 

Previously, Theo has served as CFO at YY Technologies, a text recognition software start-up, at Philips Electronics, at the Consumer Electronics division and at Horizon Navigation Inc. a GPS software developer. Prior to 1997 Theo held increasingly responsible executive positions in finance, auditing and marketing during his 16-year tenure at Unisys Corporation. He was responsible for the post-merger integration of the finance organization at the Memorex division (1985/1987) and the Unisys Europe/Africa division (1988/1992).

 

Theo started his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in The Netherlands with long-term assignments in Portugal and Brazil. He holds a degree in finance and accounting and CPA certification from The Netherlands.  Theo was the appointed to the board through December 2014 as Board Treasurer, and elected again in January 2015 to serve as President of the Board of Directors through 2015.

Joy Chase, Executive Secretary

 

M.A. Library and Information Science. B.A. English Literature. Diploma in Journalism, London School of Journalism. Joy has a long association with PAL, attending shows and taking classes since the 1970s. Joy enjoys painting abstracts in multi-media. She organized and was in a group show of Contemporary Mixed Media artists in Dec 2013 at PAL. Joy was appointed to the Board in May 2008 and elected Jan 2009-Dec 2011 and reelected Jan 2012-Dec 2014. Joy served PAL as President Jan 2010-Dec 2013.

Robin Scholl

B.A. Studio Art. UC Santa Barbara and Teaching credential. PAL instructor since 1991. She is a talented watercolor landscape artist and her work can be viewed online at www.robinscholl.com. Robin served on the Board Jan-May 2008 and was reelected Jan 2012-Dec 2014. Robin is a member of the Executive Committee and serves also on the Education and Events Committees. 

She is Exhibition Committee Chair.

 


 

Diana Diamond

B.A. University of Michigan. Journalism fellowship, Stanford University. Diana Diamond is a former board member and artist who has had several shows at PAL. She is currently a columnist for the Daily News, a former Editor-in-chief with many awards. She had her own consulting company for ten years specializing in marketing communications. Diana helped plan and organize a Centennial campaign at Stanford University. She is elected from Jan 2013-Dec 2015. Diana is on the Executive Committee. She is Chair of the Nominating Committee and the Outreach Committee.

 

Sondra Murphy

Sondra Murphy has served on community-based boards as Director of Development, Budget Manager and Leader in Community Educational Outreach for a wide range of organizations: The Brazelton Foundation (Founder), the New York Women’s Foundation (Founder), Trustee of Greenwich Hospital (Major Fundraising and Events Chair), The Greenwich Arts Council Board. Sondra has assisted the Pacific Art League serving on Events, Development, Education, and Exhibition Committees.

Rebecca White

 Throughout her 18-year career, Rebecca White has focused on building audiences for growing businesses by applying modern digital marketing principles and creative, adaptive storytelling techniques to the traditional marketing process. Her systems expertise inculdes CRM, marketing automation solutions, social marketing and networking tootls, and ultimately, delivering sustainable marketing engines that are designed to build audiences and drive reliable, predictive revenue streams. 

John Provan, Treasurer

John Provan is an accountant with multiple certifications including Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.  For more than 10 years, he performed all the accounting functions for several small for-profit companies.  For the last 10 plus years, he has conducted audits for the U.S. Department of Justice where he audits government entities as well as not-for-profit entities.

Marina Druz

 

Marina Druz is a corporate strategist with experience in Finance and Management. Marina holds a PhD in Finance from the Swiss Finance Institute. Before moving to the United States, Marina worked for Boston Consulting Group helping American companies to expand and strengthen their business in Europe. She started her career as a financial analyst in Iola consulting. She has worked across multiple areas including marketing, distribution, growth strategies and organizational changes. Marina has lived and worked in 6 different countries: Russia, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and the United States. Currently, Marina is a Sr. Strategy Manager at Flextronics, a Fortune 500 company and global leader in supply chain solutions.

Mariko Matsumoto

  MBA, CPA, Controller at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Menlo Park. Mariko was appointed to the Board in June 2009 and re-elected Jan. 2010 – Dec. 2012 and also Jan. 2013 - Dec. 2016. 

Bill Bruner

 

B.A. Stanford University. Licensed architect and Architect of Record for the Pacific Art League building renovation.  Bill has had several individual shows at PAL, since 1991, including several etching, print and pastel shows. Bill was elected to the board Jan 2008-Dec 2010. Bill served as President in 2008. He was reelected to the board Jan 2011-Dec 2013 and Jan 2014-Dec 2016. Bill serves on the Building  and Exhibition Committees.


Josephine Shuster

 

B.A. Teaching credential.  She is a retired Financial Planner and an artist. Josephine has previously served on the Board and was elected Jan 2009-Dec 2011 and reelected Jan 2012-Dec 2014. Josephine was Chair of the Events Committee in 2014


Robin Welles

 

American Academy of Dramatic Arts, N.Y. Former VP Palo Alto Art Center Foundation Board. Palo Alto Studios since 2003. Has done sculpting, monotypes, repousse'. Welles Fine Art Publishing, owner 1996-2003, designed and published fine art posters.  Set designer, office designer, formerly Creative Director of Hudson Bay Music, N.Y. Screen Gems Columbia Pictures, and Los Angeles , assistant to the president. Appointed to the Board Aug – Dec 2013, elected Jan 2014 - Dec 2016. Robin is on the  Events Committee.
